Your Safety is Our Priority

At Laser Tag in a Box, we’re committed to delivering an experience that’s fun, exciting — and safe for everyone. Our equipment is designed with safety in mind and meets the highest operational standards.

Below, we’ve answered some common questions to give you peace of mind about how we keep laser tag safe and enjoyable for all.

Yes—absolutely! Despite the name Laser Tag, there are actually no real lasers involved. The game is perfectly safe, and best of all, it’s seriously fun and exciting!

Instead of using paintball pellets or gel blaster ammo, laser tag uses an invisible infrared beam—just like the one in your TV remote. That means there’s no mess, no pain, and no need for protective gear like goggles.

In other words, Laser Tag uses harmless infrared beams (no paintballs or projectiles) so it’s completely painless and eye-safe.
Nope—laser tag won’t hurt a bit!

The "laser" is actually just invisible infrared light, like the kind your TV remote uses to change channels. There are no projectiles, no stings, and definitely no bruises.

Laser Tag is high-tech hide & seek, so it's all about fun.
Yes, absolutely. Laser tag is a non-contact game. This makes it one of the safest activities for kids.

Better still, even though the sport is called "Laser Tag," there are no real lasers. Instead, our gear uses infrared technology (just like your TV remote).

The laser beam is invisible and 100% safe for the eyes.

Unlike paintball, gel blasters, or airsoft, there are no flying projectiles. That means zero bruising, zero pain, and zero mess.

Our laser taggers are designed to be robust but light enough for children to carry and run with comfortably. The handle is designed to be carried with two hands.

Pro Tip for Party hosts: Once you set up your pop-up maze in your backyard, safety is in your hands! Before the first game starts, double-check that the area is free of tripping hazards, such as loose hoses or garden tools.

Good question!
LASER is an acronym for:
  • Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation

But here’s the twist: Laser Tag doesn’t actually use lasers!
Our equipment uses infrared light only (like your TV remote), so there’s nothing to worry about — just safe, mess-free fun.

Public Liability Insurance

We carry Public Liability Insurance up to $20 million to cover events run by our team.

If you're hiring our gear for a school fete or community event, you may need your own liability coverage.

Our laser tag gear is manufactured by Battlefield Sports, and each unit comes with its own Safety Certificate. The equipment also meets CE and FCC safety standards.

Risk Assessment Report

• Trip hazards

We actively champion and maintain a child-safe culture across all aspects of our organisation. This commitment is embedded from leadership through to all operational staff and contractors, ensuring safety is prioritised at every level of service delivery.

All activities are designed with safety in mind and are supported by clear operational procedures, risk management practices, and appropriate supervision guidelines to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.

Inflatable Safety

We also offer inflatable obstacles for hire — perfect for creating cover and obstacles during your games.

Here’s what you need to know:

Our inflatables are inflated via an air blower and sealed with a bung or one-way valve.

They are not continuous-blower style inflatables, so once inflated, they stay up.

For safety reasons, we don’t provide tent pegs or tie-down ropes, as they can be tripping hazards.
